How to Screenshot on a Mac

Want to take a screenshot or record your screen? Jackson shows us how in this weeks Tech Tip.

Being able to screenshot something on your Mac is a really useful feature. So today, we’re going to show you how to do that. So it’s pretty straightforward. It’ll also allow to record your screen as well. There are a few different ways you can do it.

On the keyboard, what you’re going to want to do is press command, shift and five. And you can see here, you’ve now got this window, which will allow you to take a screenshot. So this little area here, this square you can drag around, that’ll actually determine what part of the screen you’re taking the screenshot of. You can see down here as well, you’ve got some other settings. So for example, if you want to take a screenshot of the entire screen, you can select that or just of the window. The other thing you can also do is record your screen.

So if you want to record a video of what’s happening on your display, you can do that as well. You can see here as well as some other options, you can include your microphone, those kinds of things in that as well. So we’ll take that screenshot now. So if we just go to capture screen, you can see that takes a screenshot and then save that onto your computer.
